Education and Training

The HEU education department’s top priority is promoting union activism – through a wide range of training opportunities to help members gain new skills, and learn how to tackle issues affecting their jobs and their communities.

Whether it’s a workshop on union activism or OH&S, training for shop stewards, or attending HEU’s biennial week-long summer school, our goal is to create a supportive and active learning environment for all participants.

HEU also coordinates additional training and educational opportunities for members through our partnerships with other unions, community organizations and educational institutions.

There are also training funds available through the Facilities Bargaining Association Education Fund. Check out the criteria and download applications from our website.

You can also watch your local union bulletin board or talk to your local secretary-treasurer about current opportunities and how you can access them.
